Clare began playing the violin when she was four years old and gave her first public recital 9 years later. Clare gained a place at the Purcell School in Hertfordshire, during which she recorded the winning composition of the BBC Young Composer of the Year 2000, later aired on BBC Radio 3. Other highlights include a solo performance at the Polish Institute, Kensington, and leading the Purcell School symphony orchestra at St John’s Smith Square.
Clare continued her training at the Royal College Of Music where she studied with Yossi Zivoni and graduated with Honours in 2008. The following year, Clare joined Southbank Sinfonia, the UK’s leading training orchestra for graduates, where she worked and recorded with some of the most influential musicians, soloists and orchestras in the industry, including Barry Wordsworth (The Royal Ballet), David Hill (Institute of Sacred Music), Tasmin Little (violinist), Raphael Wallfisch (cellist), the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and the BBC Concert Orchestra. In 2010, the orchestra performed on-stage as part of The National Theatre’s re-run of Every Good Boy Deserves Favour by Tom Stoppard and AndrĂ© Previn. During her time with the Southbank Sinfonia, Clare formed a quartet which performed at No. 11 Downing Street for the Treasury Music Society.
In 2011, Clare completed her Master of Arts degree at the Royal Academy of Music, where she studied with Lydia Mordkovitch, during which she passed her LRAM teaching qualification with Distinction.
Clare enjoys a varied freelance career as a soloist, leader and teacher, and has performed at an exciting array of venues including Kensington Palace, the o2 Arena, the Gherkin, the Royal Albert Hall and Buckingham Palace. She has performed for HRH Princess Alexandra, HRH Prince Charles and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, and more recently has enjoyed television appearances for ITV, BBC and Channel 4 with artists including ABC, Tony Hadley and Muse.
